Learning Perl

Learning Perl
PDF | 454 |4.64 MB

This book is a gentle introduction to Perl. By the time you've gone through this book, you'll have touched on the majority of the simpler operations and common language idioms found in most Perl programs. This book is not intended as a comprehensive guide to Perl; on the contrary, in order to keep the book from growing unmanageably large, we've been selective about covering only those constructs and issues that you're most likely to use early in your Perl programming career.

As a prelude to your more advanced study, however, we've included a heavier chapter at the end of the book. It's about CGI programming, but along the way, it touches upon library modules, references, and object-oriented programming in Perl. We hope it whets your appetite for these more advanced topics.

Natural Secrets to Healing, Prevention & Longevity
PDF | 688 Pages  | 19.66 MB

Áyurveda is a science of life that deals with the problems of longevity, and suggests a safe, gentle, and effective way to rid diseases afflicting our health. Áyurveda is regarded as the fifth Veda— by its virtue—and has been practiced in India for thousands of years.

The knowledge of Áyurveda was handed down from Brahmá to Daksha Prajápati, onto the Ashwin twins (the divine doctors), then passed to Indra. Sage Bharadvája volunteered to go to heaven to receive this wisdom from Indra, and so became the first human to receive the knowledge of Áyurveda. He passed it to Átreya, then onto Punarnavasu and finally Agnivesha.

An attempt has been made to present the material in a simple and instructive manner, accessible even to those with little prior knowledge of Áyurveda. It is also hoped it will help unite Western and Áyurvedic traditions.

Understanding 3D Animation Using Maya

Understanding 3D Animation Using Maya
PDF | 336 Pages | 18.24 MB

Many animators and designers would like to supplement their Maya learning with a less-technical, more helpful book. This new self-study manual is both a general guide for understanding 3-D computer graphics and a specific guide for learning the fundamentals of Maya: workspace, modeling, animation, shading, lighting, and rendering.

This well-integrated and produced volume covers these fundamentals in each chapter so that readers gain increasingly detailed knowledge. After an initial ‘concepts’ section launches each chapter, hands-on tutorials are provided, as well as a chapter project that progressively adds newly learned material and culminates in the final animated short.
This is the first book on Maya that teaches the subject using a sensible, proven methodology for both novices and intermediate users.

Programming Microsoft Dynamics NAV

Programming Microsoft Dynamics NAV
PDF | 478 Pages | 15.1 MB

This book will not teach you programming from scratch, nor will it tutor you in business principles. To get the maximum out of this book, you should come prepared with some significant experience and knowledge. You will benefit most if you already have the following attributes:
Experienced developer
More than one programming language
IDE experience
Knowledgeable about business applications
Good at self-directed study

One of the first questions often asked by developers and development managers new to C/AL is "what other language is it like?" The proper response is "Pascal". If the questioner is not familiar with Pascal, the next best response would be "C" or "C#".
At the time the three founders of Navision were attending classes at Denmark Technical University (DTU), Pascal was in wide use as a preferred language not only in computer courses, but in other courses where computers were tools and software had to be written for data analyses. Some of the strengths of Pascal as a tool in an educational environment also served to make it a good model for Navision's business applications development.
